Far from crowded tourist spots, you’ll enjoy a calm and personal moment on the ice and you may even catch fish to cook over an open fire by the lake.

As the experince takes place in open air, especially with wind and low temperatures. Extra layers, insulated shoes, gloves, and warm accessories are highly recommended.

Wood-fired lakeside sauna experienCE
Experience one of Finland’s most cherished traditions with a private wood-fired lakeside sauna experience in Kuusamo.
Located beside our husky kennels and on the shore of Lake Suorajärvi our small traditional wood-fired sauna offers an authentic and relaxing way to experience northern life. Enjoy the gentle heat of the sauna, the quiet atmosphere of the surrounding nature, and the peaceful rhythm of life in the North.
For a truly authentic Finnish sauna experience, you can also try winter swimming through an ice hole (avanto) during the colder months.
Because we welcome guests to our home farm, the experience feels calm, personal and unhurried - surrounded by snowy landscapes, peaceful lakeside views and the nearby huskies.
This experience is perfect for guests looking for an authentic Finnish sauna experience and a peaceful moment in nature.

At Railakka, all tours are arranged for private small groups only. We keep our operations personal and peaceful, without large tourist groups.

Please note that there is no shower in the sauna building. Instead, water is warmed in the sauna and used for washing in the traditional Finnish way, offering an authentic and natural sauna experience.
