Terms & conditions

These terms apply to all husky safaris, excursions and services provided by Railakka Oy.

By making a booking, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions.

Railakka Oy reserves the right to update these terms when necessary.

RESERVATION & PAYMENT

Reservations can be made via email, online booking form or WhatsApp:

To confirm a booking, a 50% deposit is required.

The booking is confirmed once the deposit has been received and a written confirmation has been sent.

The booking is binding once confirmed in writing by Railakka Oy.

The deposit forms part of the total price and is subject to the cancellation terms below.

Payment options:

  • Online payment link

  • Invoice (business customers only, pre-agreed)

  • On-site payment (if agreed in advance)

If payment is not received by the due date, Railakka Oy reserves the right to cancel the booking.

Final payment:

The remaining balance (50% of the total price) is due 30 days before the activity date.

For bookings made less than 30 days before the activity date, the full amount is due immediately upon confirmation.

If payment is not received by the due date, Railakka Oy reserves the right to cancel the booking.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice. Confirmed bookings are not affected.

CANCELLATION BY CUSTOMER

All cancellations must be made in writing (email).

Cancellation policy:

  • More than 45 days before activity: free cancellation

  • 45–14 days before activity: 50% of total price charged

  • Less than 14 days before activity: 100% of total price charged

  • No-shows: 100% charge

No refunds are given for unused services.

Refunds of deposits follow the cancellation terms above.

CHANGES OR CANCELLATION BY RAILAKKA

Railakka Oy may modify or cancel a booking due to operational, safety, animal welfare, weather-related reasons, or where minimum operational requirements are not met.

If a major change occurs (such as significant program or schedule change), customers will be offered:

  • a refund of the paid deposit, or

  • an alternative date or activity (subject to availability)

SAFETY & PROGRAM CHANGES

Railakka Oy reserves the right to adjust routes, schedules or program content at any time for safety or animal welfare reasons.

This may be due to:

  • weather conditions or temperature

  • snow or trail conditions

  • safety considerations

  • guest ability level

  • animal welfare requirements

Activities may be modified or replaced with a suitable alternative (for example kennel visit or shorter safari).

Customers will be informed of changes as soon as reasonably possible. In some cases, changes may occur on short notice due to rapidly changing conditions.

In such cases, the customer will be charged for the service delivered or the agreed alternative.

MEDIA RELEASE (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

During activities, photos and videos may be taken by Railakka Oy staff for marketing and promotional purposes, including website, social media and other channels.

By default, participation may be considered consent for such use.

If a customer does not wish to appear in photos or videos, they must inform the guide before the activity begins. We will always respect such requests.

FORCE MAJEURE

Neither party shall be liable for failure or delay in performance due to force majeure events, including but not limited to war, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, extreme weather, lack of snow, or other extraordinary circumstances beyond reasonable control.

This includes, where applicable, government orders or travel restrictions.

In such cases, Railakka Oy will notify the customer as soon as reasonably possible and will take all reasonable steps to minimize disruption.

APPLICABLE LAW & JURISDICTION

These terms are governed by Finnish law.

Any disputes shall be settled primarily in the District Court of Oulu, Finland, unless mandatory consumer protection legislation requires otherwise.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITY

The customer acknowledges that husky safaris and related outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to weather conditions, terrain, animal behavior, slipping, falling and physical exertion.

The customer agrees to:

  • follow all instructions given by guides and staff

  • ensure they are in suitable physical condition

  • inform staff of any relevant health conditions

  • refrain from alcohol or drug influence before or during activities

Railakka Oy reserves the right to refuse participation if safety is compromised. In such cases, alternative arrangements or refund decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Customers are strongly recommended to have valid travel and/or accident insurance covering participation in adventure activities.

Railakka Oy is responsible for providing services in accordance with applicable law and safety requirements.

Railakka Oy is not liable for damages resulting from:

  • customer negligence

  • failure to follow instructions

  • inaccurate or incomplete customer information

  • normal risks inherent to the activity

except where caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence by the company.

Nothing in these terms limits mandatory rights under applicable consumer protection law.
